Celebrate Your Child’s Birthday with Us!

Does a party in an authentic train station sound like something your child might enjoy?

Our Freneau Station is 100 years old and is the location of our parties. There is enough room for 20 children to sit around our tables for crafts or eating. If the weather is permitting you can also use our two picnic tables that are adjacent to the station.

We offer parties most weekends throughout the year, however, we are unable to accept reservations that coincide with the dates of our special events. The time length allotted for the party is 2-hours and can be scheduled to start at either 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

The rental fee for the station is $50.00, which includes a tour of our facility. Additionally, you shall receive a paper conductor's hat or engineer's hat for each child. A train ride can be added to the birthday party at an additional cost of $4.00 per person age 3 and over. The ticket for the ride will have your child's name on it.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in please contact Idella LuBrant at ihl1954@aol.com for more details or to check the availability of the date you are interested in.

Groups Are Welcomed!

Special accommodations are made for school groups, tours, day camps, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, weddings or any other special occasions.

As a vital part of its ongoing commitment to education, the New Jersey Museum of Transportation welcomes hundreds of children from day care centers, day camps, and public and private schools to its Pine Creek Railroad, historic buildings, and maintenance facility. Before riding our historic rolling stock, young passengers are briefed on railroad safety by a qualified conductor-docent, who will accompany them on their ride to answer questions and point out items of interest along the right-of-way. Time permitting, the visit may include a tour of the shop and car barn. An education packet for teachers and counselors provides a brief history of the museum and partial roster of its equipment, an annotated timeline of railroad history, and suggestions for follow-up activities.

To schedule a group event on a weekday, contact Tod Sylva of Allaire Village at (732) 919-3500. To schedule a group event on a weekend, contact Idella LuBrant at IluBrant@njmt.org
